The Lady Dior film short makes me want to put on my finest black clothes, apply some luminescent radiance product and go get embroiled in a Hitchcockian escapade on the Eiffel Tower.
p.s. The tower's intricate fretwork makes me swoon. Y

I still love the Vogue Paris 2007 calendar featuring the opalescent Karen Elson. Carine Roitfeld is well up for a bit of 'glamour bondage'. Y

sartorial lust

Oh, how I love this blouse*. True, I already have several variations on the ol' nude/sheer/silk blouse combo but everyone has to have a thing, right? LOVE how Karla wore hers. Also LOVE Lara. Y

*Why does saying the word 'blouse' make me feel old? It generates the same shudder as when someone says 'frock' or 'jerkin'.

My favourite ensemble from the FW09 shows was this stunner from Staerk. It's not so much the dress itself but the marvellous explosion of metal flora acting as a kind of space age corsage.

I've been thinking about how I could recreate this look; ideas so far involve several hundred metres of florists wire and a whole lot of patience; the scrunching of many many pieces of foil or, as a last resort, clamping Habitat's PISTILLO light pendant to my scapula.





Close second was this sexy little Balmain get-up. I mean, this outfit has all the ingredients of a stereotypical Parisienne: they love a bit of leather, have endless pin legs and, well, we all recognise the stripy t-shirt association with the French.

Topped off with a bit of au naturel hair and make-up and a dash of insouciance (her t-shirt isn't tucked into her jeans properly but she just doesn't give a shit!), this screams Paris. Je l'aime.

I'll be in Paris again in October and will no doubt see hundreds of fashionistas channelling this look as they stalk around the Tuileries between shows. I can't wait.Y
